#13: Why is time always a problem?

In her book “Tio Tankar om Tid”  (“Ten thoughts abut time”) Bodil Jönsson has written that time is definable right down to the atomic level and good to have when deciding when to meet. But our concept of time is an illusion. We can either choose the illusion “There’s a lack of time” or the illusion “There’s plenty of time.”

The illusion you choose has a great effect on your behavior. Both of us  (Elisabet and Tomas) have changed our value statement from “There’s a lack of time,” to “There’s plenty of time”. It doesn’t happen over night, but it is fully possible.

Many times a day we would think,  “Oh, time’s so short!” Finally our brains thought it was true. It took over our lives.

But you can change your thoughts. We changed our thinking from “There’s a lack of time” to “ There’s plenty of time” and used mental tools to support the conversion. It has radically changed how we behave. Now we are calmer, and still get just as much done. Today our brains are convinced that there is plenty of time; they think it is true.

Is there hope for you? Absolutely. You’re still reading, aren’t you!
