#14: Why do some people always whine about small things?

The first question you should ask is if the whining is justified. It may be an expression of something much bigger and more important that should be improved at the company. In that case deal with the real problem immediately. In a constructive dialog try and find the real causes.

If that is not the case, the whining may depend on the co-worker being stuck in negative, destructive thinking. The brain readily gets stuck in a rut. Furthermore, we people have a natural tendency to focus on problems It is a genetically inherited survival mechanism

We teach different types of thinking—negative, positive, neutral and constructive. We also train groups to be able to change thinking types so that they  can see things from different perspectives and thereby make better decisions.
