#16: Our co-workers are definitely committed, but only in their free time
Maybe you know co-workers who only go to work to get their salary or to have a nice time with their colleagues. They are not so committed, never offer any constructive suggestions and just do exactly the tasks assigned to them. Then the clock turns five; they go to a club meeting and are incredibly active, creative and committed.
What does that mean?
It can mean that the company and co-workers don’t have the same values. The co-workers probably think the company doesn’t regard what they think is important or think that what the company represents doesn’t motivate them. That’s why co-workers don’t apply themselves fully to working for the company but leave part of it at home. Other conceivable explanations are that co-workers are pushed too hard or that the suggestions and ideas co-workers have are not taken seriously.
If the company can create a value statement that involves and motivates co-workers, everyone wins. Or expressed in another way, it creates the basis for not only a better life but also better business. We can support you in the implementation of such a transformation.
