#8: Why is my boss so difficult sometimes?

It often depends on one to three things. One is that your boss is in fact difficult to work with; two is that co-workers project their shortcomings on the boss; or three, that they quite simply are so different that they don’t understand each other. Sometimes it’s a combination of several factors.

In the first case it is probable that the boss suffers from low self-esteem. A boss with low self-esteem often focuses too much on the bottom line. Relations between co-workers suffer and they do a worse job. In the second case, it’s all about co-worker shortcomings, which are so difficult for the co-worker to see that the brain employs a defense mechanism called “projection”. That is to say, points out the boss as a scapegoat

If the problems depend on lack of understanding, it is often helpful to focus on knowledge and exercises in communication and conflict management. A personality test is also a good starting point for creating a constructive dialog about the similarities and differences that can lead to an improvement in cooperation.

We will gladly carry out an analysis of the causes and then coach your managers and co-workers toward better cooperation.
